b54253acf9 Numerous changes to make paper tape configurations more consistent with disk configurations. This allows all devices to share the machine-wide "autoMount" configuration object, now that the PC11 has a proper device name ("PTR"), making its properties distinguishable from those for RK11 and RL11 drives (eg, "RK0", "RL0", etc). And all the tape/disk components now use "Load" functions to connect a tape or disk to a device ("Attach" is deprecated). And finally, all tape/disk components now support operations to deposit their media directly into memory -- although in this case, the names of the operations are necessarily different: "Read" for tape images, "Boot" for disk images. The difference is partly historical convention but also reflects the fact that a "Boot" operation is more limited: paper tapes were designed to be completely loaded into memory, whereas bootable disks are designed for only the first sector to be loaded and executed. Also, paper tape images are now flagged as non-auto-starting, because they often require some user action (eg, loading another tape, setting some switches, etc), whereas disk boot sectors are flagged as auto-starting (see the fStart parameter of the loadImage() interface in the RAM component). 2016-12-03 14:49:51 -08:00

a248b177fd Eliminated the NO_FLAGS hack, which was doubly-annoying because its sole purpose was to prevent writes to ONE address -- the PSW -- from modifying any flags; the proper solution is to simply ensure that all flag updates occur before the destination is written 2016-12-01 21:12:18 -08:00

6bea7fd0e9 Added SerialPort interface to support the passing of flow control signals between machines (only PDP-11 and VT100 for now; PCx86 will come later, after I study how well, or not-so-well, this works with the VT100) 2016-12-01 11:15:27 -08:00

a5a40ebab4 The PDP-11 Bus component now maintains separate memory maps: one fixed for all Bus (direct) accesses, and another that can vary based on current MMU settings 2016-11-28 14:32:46 -08:00
Jeff Parsons
375146f6bb Hacked the Bus component to permit devices to access the actual memory map (better solution will be maintain two separate maps: one for the CPU and a separate map for device access) 2016-11-28 13:27:06 -08:00

469d446ab7 Updated the PDP-11 SerialPort to support ALT-ENTER for LINE-FEED and ALT-DELETE for BACKSPACE, to stay in step with VT100 shortcuts 2016-11-27 13:48:23 -08:00
Jeff Parsons
b1b992b432 Added new keyboard shortcuts to the VT100: ALT-ENTER for LINE-FEED (F7 still works) and ALT-DELETE for BACKSPACE (fn-DELETE still works) 2016-11-27 12:45:17 -08:00

66f82736c9 Added support for paste to the VT100, but browser idiosyncrasies (eg, Chrome) are proving irksome; for now, you'll have more luck with Firefox, or sticking to machines that use a textarea for their I/O instead the VT100 if you need to do a lot of pasting 2016-11-25 18:28:57 -08:00

57d287f161 The VT100 is now smarter about detecting the host machine's physical CAPS LOCK state (and is also capable of displaying that state now) 2016-11-25 16:06:39 -08:00

d4e0d8a422 Changed PC8080 auto-release timeout for key presses to use built-in setTimer() instead of the browser's setTimeout(), and reduced the timeout from 100ms to 50ms; let's see if the VT100 still experiences dropped keys when typing fast 2016-11-23 22:02:22 -08:00
