PDP-11 Boot Monitor
-------------------
[BOOTMON.mac](BOOTMON.mac) is a custom boot monitor/loader based on [boot.mac](http://skn.noip.me/pdp11/boot.mac) written by
Paul Nankervis. It is used with all our PDP-11 test machines.
[BOOTMON.mac](BOOTMON.mac) was cross-assembled with [MACRO11](https://github.com/shattered/macro11) to produce
[BOOTMON.txt](BOOTMON.txt), which was then processed by [FileDump](/modules/filedump/) to produce
[BOOTMON.json](BOOTMON.json).

RK03 XXDP+ Diagnostics Disk
---------------------------
### Boot
To boot the RK03 "XXDP+ Diagnostics" disk, start a [PDP-11/70](devices/pdp11/machine/1170/panel/debugger/) with an
[RK11 Disk Controller](/devices/pdp11/rk11/), select the "XXDP+ Diagnostics" disk from the list of disks
available for drive "RK0", click **Load**, and wait for the message:
Mounted disk "XXDP+ Diagnostics" in drive RK0
Then start the machine (click **Run**) and make sure the following prompt has been displayed:

BOOT>
At the prompt, type "BOOT RK0". The following text should appear:

THIS IS XXDP+. TYPE "H" OR "H/L" FOR HELP.
.
NOTE: Any RK11 disk drive (RK0-RK7) can be used. RK0 was selected for demonstration purposes.

### Help
Unfortunately, this version of XXDP+ is not as complete as the [RL02K XXDP+ Diagnostics Disk](/disks/dec/rl02k/xxdp/),
and there is no HELP information:
? NOT FOUND: HELP .TXT
Refer to [Help](/disks/dec/rl02k/xxdp/#help) from the RL02K version.

11/70 CPU DIAGNOSTIC PART 1
ABSTRACT:
This diagnostic is the first part of the 11/70 CPU, it designed to detect and
report logic faults in the CPU. Any fault detected in this program causes the
program to "HALT". After this, run the second part of the CPU test, EKBBF0.
OPERATING PROCEDURES:
Set the switch register by <CONTROL P> (RD console)

CON = xxxxxxWZ

(W = deposit xxxxxx into console switch register)

(R = read and type console switch settings)
