I decided to stick with the latter, since it has a better chance of rendering as normal Markdown.
Technically, the URLs in the latter should include:
{{ site.baseurl }}
but since I'm using a custom domain name (http://pcjs.net instead of http://jeffpar.github.io/pcjs), it's not necessary.
The latter is better for pure Markdown environments, but the former enables Jekyll to properly style screenshots.
